Local-inertial shallow water model on unstructured triangular grids

چکیده

Two-dimensional shallow water models are widely used for flood risk assessment. Application of these to large-scale urban areas significantly increases the computational cost as it requires high-resolution simulations capture complex hydrodynamic processes. Hence, simplified that based on local-inertial formulations have been proposed by different researchers. Although successful in simulating floods, their applications limited use structured grids and instability issues. Structured do not flexibility providing mesh resolutions model domain. Importantly, case grids, a single grid or combination finer coarser inevitably overall time. To overcome all problems, an unstructured grid-based is developed. The performance rigorously evaluated solving analytical test cases Glasgow, UK. Finally, applied simulate catastrophic event occurred Chennai, India. simulated depths inundation extents compared with observed data full-2D results. investigations show developed has potential floods at comparatively lower than its predecessors similar range accuracy.
